Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Lunettes is developed and operated by Knoodlepot Studio, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Contact: knoodlepot@knoodlepotstudio.com

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — used to create and manage your account.
• Reading history and preferences — your current reading position, voice preferences, and reading speed settings are stored so the app can resume where you left off.
• Imported documents — EPUBs or PDFs you import are stored securely so you can access them within the app. They are not shared with any third party beyond the AI narration service.
• Family Helper connections — if you use the Family Helper feature, the connecting code and any book or voice settings shared between accounts are stored. This requires the explicit real-time consent of the primary reader before any changes take effect.
• Subscription status — managed via RevenueCat, which records your purchase history and a device identifier to manage your subscription across reinstalls.

Text from the book or document currently being read is sent to our AI services for emotional analysis and narration. This content is processed in real time and is not stored by us beyond the current reading session.

We do not collect your name, location, phone number, or any other personal information beyond the above.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and maintain your account.
• To store your reading position, preferences, and imported documents.
• To send the current page text to Anthropic's Claude API for emotional context analysis. Only the page text is sent — no personal information is included.
• To send narration instructions to ElevenLabs for voice synthesis. Only the text and delivery instructions are sent — no personal information is included.
• To manage Family Helper connections with the explicit consent of all parties.
• To manage your subscription via RevenueCat.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication, cloud database, and storage. Your email address, reading preferences, and imported documents are stored on Supabase servers (EU region where available). Supabase Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — page text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to detect emotional context for narration. Anthropic may retain API inputs for safety purposes in accordance with their policy. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• ElevenLabs — narration instructions and page text are sent to ElevenLabs for voice synthesis. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. RevenueCat collects a device identifier and purchase history. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

5. Data Retention

Your account data, reading preferences, and imported documents are stored until you delete them within the app or request account deletion. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email knoodlepot@knoodlepotstudio.com — we will action it within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK resident, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to processing of your data.

7. Children

This app is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
